We continue the conversation about the doors

Let us open the veil of our heart itself - the stage of production. So, after the customer has signed the drawings of his future doors, the order follows to the production unit. Here, before launch, a package of design and technological documentation is prepared at the design office, and then the manufacture of the products follows immediately. The package of documents includes detailed drawings for each production site and full details of the order.

The production process itself consists of the following stages: Harvesting. Here the cutting of solid wood, veneer and sheet materials takes place. The bulk of the parts are made of MDF. Of the features: we use solid wood for trimming parts (in the case where the custom-made finish preserves the texture and / or structure of the tree). That is, each detail, including the stand that is most injured during operation, is covered at the ends with an array of hardwood species. This provides maximum strength to the product and at the same time allows the use of stabilized materials (MDF, plywood), which in turn makes it possible to avoid drying out, cracking and other troubles arising in the manufacture of solid wood doors. Also in this section, parts get into the press - sheet materials are glued together and / or with veneer (veneering). The equipment park includes a hot press (plywood sheet, veneering), a cold press (trimming, radius) and a vacuum press (work with bent glued parts)

The following is machining.

Milling operations are performed on this site and parts are driven into the final size. All parts and elements of parts having a profile, as well as parts having various kinds of openings are subjected to milling (for example, for inserting fittings - for door blocks this is a lock mechanism, hinges). In the case of painting without preserving the wood texture, MDF parts are milled, but if the product was seen by the author of the project with a wood texture - we perform milling work on an array - this is either material of the same breed as veneer, or hardwood, which composes a pair of veneer in porosity. In the latter case, the parts are additionally tinted to give the same color as the veneer. One of the important stages of manufacturing an order, if not the most responsible, is the dry assembly phase. Why dry? This is a professional slang, implying that the parts are going without finishing (dry so to speak). At this stage, the product is completely pre-assembled (an example of operations is the cutting of the covers of panels of cloths, the insertion of locks, loops, etc.). After the product is completely or partially disassembled and should be on the site of finishing with paints and varnishes. We talked about this in detail in one of the previous articles on the manufacture of cabinet furniture. There are no differences in the decoration of furniture and doors.
